Hello, my name is Jalani Quarterman and I am entering my freshman year at Arabia Mountain HS in Dekalb County Georgia. I didn’t always dream of playing football because my first love was track and I am still participating in it. My love for the game of football grew because I was being physical and hitting people. I first started playing football for my middle school on the flag football team. I was not very good, but one of my coaches told me that with my speed and awareness, I could be really good in the sport. That is when my passion for the game started to grow and now I can say that playing football on a higher level is a dream of mine
My goals as a student-athlete are to become a starter on the varsity by the time I am a sophomore and to have a great academic year in the classroom. These are two of my main goals right now and I believe I can accomplish them both. That is because I love playing the game of football and I will do whatever is necessary to make sure I have that opportunity. I also plan on having many scholarship offers by the time I am a senior.
I will accomplish my dreams and goals by working hard at practice and in the classroom. I will work hard to make good test scores, just like I will work hard to stop people from scoring touchdowns. I will work hard in the weight room to better develop my body and strength. When I am not at practice, I will do extra work at home to keep myself mentally and physically ready. With hard work and integrity in all that I do, I plan on becoming a professional athlete so I can take care of my family and live the life I desire.
The first day I meet Jalani, I told him I was a scout for all collegiate teams through my company as a private practice. He immediately stood up, walked over and introduced himself, as he was shaking my hand. His teammates were laughing at him but I quickly told them, as a scout, who’s name do you all think i will remember!
