Hello, my name is Jakari Milton. I am an 5’5 running back with an 3.5 gpa at West St John High. I also play basketball, baseball, and run track. I love playing sports and on my off days, I like to do extra work, so I can get better at my position. This is something I do for each sport that I participate in.

My goals as an Student Athlete is to graduate with at least a 3.0 and I also plan on graduating in top 10 % of my class. Another goal is mine is to earn a full athletic, or academic scholarship. Either would be a blessing because I plan on playing football, regardless. My ultimate goal is to make it to the NFL, but if that is not meant to be, I would like to become an realtor.

I know I can and will accomplish my goals with work hard, determination discipline and having a no quit attitude at everything I do. The same mindset I have as an athlete will also help in the classroom . I plan on being a leader and leading by example. I will pay attention in class and take care of my responsibilities like home work and studying, so I can be prepared and do my best when it is time to take tests.

Everything that I do and will experience in high school will prepare me for every level that I will reach. Study, learning my school work and preparing for a test is just like studying and watching film to prepare for a game. I will continue to work hard and do my best lead by example, while I am still learning.

I am proud to have Jakari, as a member of my mentorship program! This young sir is the first from a HS In Louisiana that is rich with tradition and community pride. Young sirs like him are trying to get West St. John HS back to those championship form by building a legacy of their own. I am honored to be in a position to help lead, guide and direct this young sir where he can be a positive influence on his teammate as the work to bring excitement and pride back to their school and community.
