INTRODUCTION
Hello, my name is Yarnell Smith Jr. I am currently a Junior in high school attending Destrehan High School. My peers and coaches know me as YJ. I enjoy playing video games and going to the gym in my free time. I started my football journey at the age of 6 and have played continuously ever since. I played offensive line and defensive line throughout my recreation years. When I began playing travel football, my love for playing as an offensive guard grew and I became focused on that position. I was a member of a very good travel football team for 5 years, and we won multiple championships.
My Goals as a student-athlete
As I enter my Senior season, I am focusing on improving my GPA, improving my stats in the weight room, and becoming one of the best offensive linemen to have ever played at Destrehan School. After completing the 1st half of my Junior year, I realiothst I need to work harder to be the best person I can be. That means, in the classroom and on the field. I am striving to be the leader of the offensive line during the rest of my years at Destrehan. After high school, I have plans to attend college and play football. I want to play for a college team that fits me and my style. I am open to all college teams, including Junior colleges, if that is my only option. I plan to study Business in college and I will pursue Real Estate.
How I plan on accomplishing my goals
In conclusion, I have set some pretty big goals for myself in the next few years of my life. With the support from my parents and my hard wor, I hope to achieve all of my goals. I plan to put on extra work on my academics and get my GPA as high ability will let me. I also plan on putting in extra work on the weight room and on the field to get stronger, which will benefit me at my position. I am blessed to know all positions on the offensive line and I just want to help my team in any way possible. I look forward to working hard this year and the years to come!
