John 15:1-11 reminds us of the importance of staying connected to the source—Jesus Christ. Just as a branch cannot bear fruit unless it remains attached to the vine, we cannot succeed in life, sports, or any endeavor without abiding in Him.

Throughout my journey as a student-athlete and mentor, I’ve learned that when I tried to do things my own way, relying on my strength alone, I fell short. But when I remained in faith, trusting the Lord’s process, the results spoke for themselves. God prunes those He loves, shaping us through challenges so we can bear even greater fruit. The process isn’t always easy, but it’s necessary for growth and purpose.

💡Athletes

Success isn’t just about talent or hard work—it’s about staying rooted in discipline, faith, and consistency. Just like an athlete must stay connected to the game plan, film study, and training, your spiritual growth depends on staying connected to Christ. When you abide in Him, you will bear the fruit of wisdom, strength, and favor—both on and off the field.

💡Parents

As parents, we are the first example of faith and perseverance for our children. Just as we encourage them to stay disciplined in sports and academics, we must also teach them the importance of abiding in God. When they see us trusting in Him through our trials, they will learn to do the same. Encourage them to stay in the Word, pray, and seek God’s direction in every step they take.
