Scripture Focus:
Matthew 25:14-30 – The Parable of the Talents
—
1. Introduction: The Call to Faithful Stewardship
> “For it will be like a man going on a journey, who called his servants and entrusted to them his property…”
(Matthew 25:14, ESV)
DM9, LLC and Diamonds of Distinction were not birthed from chance but through divine purpose and preparation. Like the master in this parable, God has entrusted me with talents—my experiences as a professional athlete, my knowledge of the recruiting process, and my passion for mentoring young men. These gifts were not meant to be hidden or kept for myself but used to multiply opportunities and blessings for others.
“To whom much is given, much is required” (Luke 12:48). This principle echoes through the work I do. I have been entrusted with influence, knowledge, and a platform to shape the lives of student-athletes. And with that trust comes great responsibility—to guide, teach, and empower the next generation to fulfill their potential both on and off the field.

2. The Assignment: Investing in the Lives of Others
> “He who had received the five talents went at once and traded with them, and he made five talents more…”
(Matthew 25:16, ESV)
At Diamonds of Distinction, every young man who walks through the doors is like a talent placed in my hands. My assignment is not simply to give advice but to invest in their future—to teach them discipline, accountability, and the importance of faith.
Training and Exposure: Providing them with the knowledge and a platform to gain exposure and earn scholarship opportunities.
Mentorship and Accountability: Guiding them to develop a strong foundation of character that goes beyond athletics.
Faith and Purpose: Helping them recognize that true success is found when they use their gifts for God’s glory.
Just as the first two servants multiplied their talents, I am committed to ensuring that DM9 and Diamonds of Distinction continue to multiply the lives impacted, the opportunities created, and the seeds planted for the Kingdom.
—
3. The Reward: Faithfulness Leads to Greater Responsibility
> “Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.”
(Matthew 25:21, ESV)
Faithfulness in small matters opens the door to greater responsibilities and influence. By being diligent and obedient with what God has entrusted to me, He continues to expand my territory.
DM9, LLC: What began with a vision has expanded to include Diamonds of Distinction, Access9 Streaming, and DM9 Getaways—each serving a unique purpose but all rooted in glorifying God through service and stewardship.
Mentoring Beyond Football: My influence has stretched beyond the game, teaching young men life principles that will carry them through challenges, victories, and beyond.
As God continues to bless these efforts, I am reminded that faithfulness today determines the opportunities of tomorrow.
—
4. The Consequence of Neglect: Wasting Opportunities
> “But he who had received the one talent went and dug in the ground and hid his master’s money.”
(Matthew 25:18, ESV)
The unfaithful servant chose fear over faith. He hid what was given to him, refusing to take action. This is a warning to those who let doubt, fear, or complacency stop them from using their gifts.
In the context of Diamonds of Distinction, this means:
Neglecting the Call: Failing to invest in the next generation or leaving potential untapped.
Hiding Talents: Not creating opportunities for exposure or mentorship when I have the resources to do so.
Ignoring Purpose: Forgetting that God’s gifts are not for personal gain but for the benefit of others and His glory.
As leaders, mentors, and influencers, we must resist the temptation to play it safe. God did not give us talents to bury them—He expects multiplication.
—
5. The Consequence of Inaction: Loss and Judgment
> “So take the talent from him and give it to him who has the ten talents… And cast the worthless servant into the outer darkness.”
(Matthew 25:28-30, ESV)
Inaction has consequences. The servant who did nothing lost everything. Likewise, if we fail to act on the opportunities and resources entrusted to us, we risk losing the platform God has provided.
For DM9 and Diamonds of Distinction, this is a sobering reminder that:
Missed Opportunities: Neglecting to pour into young men today means missing the chance to impact generations.
Accountability Before God: There will come a day when I will have to give an account for how I used what was entrusted to me. I want to hear, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
—
6. Application: How This Parable Aligns with DM9 and Diamonds of Distinction
Stewardship of Influence and Knowledge
God has given me the platform of DM9, LLC to invest in lives, shape futures, and build character through Diamonds of Distinction.
I am responsible for multiplying these efforts by expanding mentorship, providing exposure, and teaching life principles.
Multiplication Through Mentorship
Just as the faithful servants multiplied their talents, I am called to multiply opportunities for student-athletes by guiding them toward their goals while teaching accountability and discipline.
Accountability and Faithfulness
I am accountable to God first, and I recognize that faithfulness in this assignment opens the door to greater influence and impact.
Faithfulness today leads to greater responsibility tomorrow.
—
7. Reflection: Challenging Ourselves to be Faithful Servants
Questions to Reflect On:
* Am I multiplying the talents God has entrusted to me?
* Am I using my platform to create opportunities for others?
* Am I acting out of faith or burying my gifts out of fear?
DM9, LLC and Diamonds of Distinction were not given to me for personal gain but as tools to invest in the lives of young men. My commitment is to multiply these gifts—ensuring that these young men are equipped to walk in their purpose and bring glory to God.

8. Closing Call to Action: A Challenge to Parents, Athletes, and Mentors
> “To whom much is given, much is required.”
(Luke 12:48, ESV)
Parents and Athletes:
Recognize that God has placed opportunities before you—seize them with discipline and faith.
Develop your talents with the same passion you pursue athletic excellence.
Mentors and Coaches:
Invest in the lives of those entrusted to you.
Multiply the influence God has given by pouring into the next generation.
—
Final Charge:
“Faithfulness with what you have today prepares you for greater responsibility tomorrow. Be a faithful steward—multiply what God has entrusted to you!”
Well done, good and faithful servant. That is the goal.
