INTRODUCTION

Hello Coach Mason, my name is Zion Njenga.  I am 13 years old and currently in the 8th grade.  I am working hard to make it to the NFL one day.  I will  work hard when I am in, or out of school to make this dream possible.  When I get the chance, I try to study some of my favorite players in hope to learn from them.  These players include; Minkah Fritz Patrick, Jamal Adams, Ryan Shazier, Odell Beckham Jr., Stephen Diggs, Darius Slay, and Antonio Brown.  I like watching the defensive players because of their ball hawking skills, how they communicate as a unit and I like to watch them making big time tackles when needed!  I like to watch the  offensive players and see how they read the defense to help get themselves open. It is amazing to see how they  read the positioning and the coverage of the defense.

My Goals as a student-athlete

As a student-athlete, I will work to accomplish many things.  One of my main goals is to keep my GPA on, or above a 3.7.  This is very important to me!  I will keep working to keep all my grades up and still improve my skills as a student-athlete.  Another goal is to become a versatile wide receiver and make the starting varsity lineup in highschool.  I would also like to become a great cover corner/defender who can come up and make tackles.  I will be  a big time player who is capable of making big time dependable plays so my team can depend on me.  I will maintain a good GPA, while keeping myself active in all team activities.  I plan on having the best attitude and show the utmost respect in the classroom and complete all my work to keep my eligibility in good standing to play football.

How I plan on accomplishing my goals

I will accomplish my goals as a student-athlete by keeping myself out of trouble in school, completing my assignments and being a good student overall.  I will attend all practices, camps, weight lifting days and everything that will help me improve my athletic skills.  I will spend my time wisely, improving myself, both athletically and academically.  I believe this program can help put me on the right track for improving myself and accomplishing my goals.  This program will help to keep me both athletically and academically capable, while helping me improve my abilities.

Having the opportunity to coach this young sir was great. I had the opportunity to see him play against my son in middle school and I was interested in mentoring him from that very moment. I love his passion and desire to play the game and his eagerness to get on the field. The young man has a big heart and his confidence is through the roof and I pray he never lose that fire.

Coach Mason

I would like to thank you all for taking time to read about this young sir.  Please leave this young sir some words of encouragement, or whatever the LORD place on your heart to share.  Thank you in advance! (Damon Mason)
