As the founder of Diamonds of Distinction, I’ve spent years mentoring, coaching, and helping young men and women prepare for opportunities—on the field and in life. Every year, I see student-athletes and families scrambling during senior year, wondering why a scholarship didn’t come… wondering where they missed the mark.
Let me be honest: Waiting until senior year is not too late, but it’s late.
That’s why I’ve made a decision to select 12 student-athletes from the Class of 2026 and personally guide them—free of charge—through my mentoring and recruiting services. Why 12? Because I believe in giving back, and the Word says, “Give, and it will be given to you.” (Luke 6:38). I chose 12 to represent 12%, a spiritual tithe back to the Lord.
If you’re reading this and you’re serious about earning an athletic scholarship—or you’re a parent who wants to put your child in the best position—read closely.

The Onboarding Process
This is how I separate the ones who want it from the ones who are willing to work for it.
Step 1: Exposure Begins
You’ll see us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. You’ll hear about us through coaches, parents, and word of mouth. That’s intentional. Diamonds of Distinction is actively looking for high-character athletes with the potential to lead—not just play.
Step 2: You Receive a Personal Invitation
If selected, you’ll receive a direct invitation from me. It outlines:
What I expect from you
What you can expect from me
What services are included You’ll be asked to share it with your parent or guardian. That’s your first test.
Step 3: Parent Confirmation Required
Your parent must email ( damonmason@iamdm9.net ) or call me (@ 404-821-3403) to officially confirm your permission for your child to participate.
This step helps me evaluate:
If you follow instructions
How involved your parent is
If your family is truly ready to commit to this journey
Step 4: Athlete Questionnaire
Once confirmed, I’ll send you a questionnaire to complete.
This covers:
Athletic background
Academic performance
Goals and social media handles
Highlight video or transcripts (optional)
No skipping steps. Every part matters.
Step 5: We Build Your Recruiting Folder
Using your information, I’ll begin developing:
Your athlete profile
A Google Drive folder with highlight videos, transcripts, and other recruiting material
A plan to get you in front of college coaches
This is not just about exposure—this is about preparation.

If You’re Interested
If you’re an athlete—or the parent of one—and want to be considered for Diamonds of Distinction, don’t wait. When your name is called, be ready to respond. Check your DMs. Check your emails. Ask questions. Follow directions.
Because the window of opportunity is already open—and when it closes, it may not open again.

This isn’t just recruiting. It’s ministry. It’s mentorship. It’s preparation for life.
If you’re ready, I’m ready.
